The number of foreign nationals waiting at the Yıldız Student Dormitory in Demirhan (Trachoni), to be exported from the country, has reached 100 as there is no space left in North Cyprus prisons.
According to Diyalog, funds for the deportation of the foreign nationals is being awaited from the Finance Ministry.
The balconies of the student dormitory, that is surrounded with iron bars has turned into a third prison.
Approximately 100 thousand dollars is required to deport the detainees, mostly of African origin, who are being kept in unhealthy conditions, to their countries by plane.
6-7 people are living in 2 bed dormitory rooms under difficult conditions. The situation not only poses a health risk but also a risk in terms of security.
