The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources announced that damage was accidentally caused by the Değirmemlik (Kythrea) municipality, at the roundabout of Ercan Airport. The drinking water system, that flows to the southern pipes in North Cyprus, from Türkiye as part of the water supply project has been effected.
According to the statement, water shortages will be experienced in some areas until the damage is resolved.
The areas to be affected by the damage are as follows:
Kırklar (Tymbou), Dilekkaya (Agia), Kırıkkale (Melouseia), Erdemli (Tremetousia), Yiğitler (Arsos), Akıncılar (Louroujina), Türkmenköy (Kontea), Akdoğan (Lysi), Beyarmudu (Pergamos), Çayönü (Kalopsida), and Güvercinlik (Acheritou).
