Unlicensed 14-year-old driver Savaş Erdem Soybal, who was driving on the old Güzelyurt (Morphou) – Lefke (Lefka) main road, lost steering control and died after crashing into a garden and house wall.
According to a Police statement, the accident took place on the old Güzelyurt (Morphou) – Lefke (Lefka) main road. Driver of JG 531 registered vehicle, Savaş Erdem Soybal (M-14), who was heading towards Aydınköy (Prastio), lost steering control on a bend and was only able to stop after hitting a garden wall then a house wall at around 2.20 a.m. on February 14.
The 14-year-old driver Savaş Erdem Soybal, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is under way.
