21-year-old man drowns in Ozanköy


 

A 21-year-old man, identified as Abdessalam Maaji, drowned on Sunday afternoon after being swept away by strong currents off the coast of Ozanköy ( Kazanafi).

According to police, Maaji entered the sea north of the former Zeyko Oil Factory at around 4:00 pm, where he was caught by rough seas and unable to make it back to shore.

His body was recovered by Civil Defense Search and Rescue Teams and later transported by a police hearse.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
