217 drivers were penalized by traffic teams across North Cyprus yesterday, following checks of 1,466 drıvers, a police statement report.
5 DRIVERS ARRESTED, 27 DRIVERS BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
While legal action was been filed against 217 drivers for breaking traffic rules, 5 drivers were arrested and 27 drivers were banned from traffic.
Driving above the legal speed limit ranked first, among the reported traffic crimes.
104 people were fined for driving over the legal speed limit, 26 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 5 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 5 for using a mobile device while driving, 2 for driving without wearing a seat belt, 7 for driving without an M.O.T certificate, 5 for driving without insurance,1 for carrying passengers without a permit, (pirate taxi) and 62 for committing other traffic crimes.
