3 accidents in 1 day: 1 dead, 4 injured


 

Three traffic accidents took place in different parts of North Cyprus yesterday. One person was reported dead and 4 injured in the accidents.

DRUNK DRIVER CRASHED; 1 PERSON DIED

Emirhan Yürük (32), who was under the influence of 172 ml of alcohol, was heading towards Girne (Kyrenia) on the Girne (Kyrenia) – Güzelyurt (Morphou) main road and crossed into the right lane crashing head-on with another vehicle driven by Zeynep Kartal (18) who was coming in the opposite direction.

An Alsancak (Karavas) resident Barış Ağca (19) was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident. Tuğçe Kocagül (30) and Zeynep Kartal were seriously injured.
Emirhan Yürük has been arrested.

STUDENT TRYING TO CROSS ROAD HIT BY VEHICLE

A 16-year-old student was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the road in front of LTL.
The incident took place yesterday at around 12.15 p.m. on Cemal Gürsel Street in Lefkoşa (Nicosia).
The injured student was taken to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and is being kept under observation.

MAN HIT BY TRUCK AT PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

74-year-old Selami Sert was hit by a truck at a pedestrian crossing in Girne (Kyrenia) Karakum (Karakoumi), yesterday.
Selami Sert, who was injured in the accident, was admitted to the Dr. Akçiçek State Hospital in Girne (Kyrenia) and was later moved to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
