75-year-old Greek Cypriot Yorgo Areste, was caught by the Prevention of Narcotics and Smuggling team with 3 kg of drugs in a mosque courtyard in Mormenekşe (Limnia).
It has been reported that Yorgo Areste was sent to the Central Prison to be tried within two months.
Yorgo Areste’s Vietnamese caretaker, who was also arrested for being with Yorgo during the operation, has been released.
According to Diyalog news, Yorgo Areste claimed that the drugs were his and that it has not been determined who he was collaborating with in the north.
The police are investigating who he was doing business with.
