30-year-old arrested in drug importation investigation


 

A30-year-old man has been arrested yesterday afternoon as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation of drugs into Cyprus.

The arrest was made under a warrant after the man was found in possession of pills potentially related to drugs. During a search of his home, 78 pills believed to be controlled substances were discovered, along with various items suspected to be linked to drug trafficking.

In connection with the same case, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on June 12, 2024, at Larnaca airport. During a search of her luggage, authorities found 5,879 pills and nine packages containing a white powder, both believed to be controlled drugs. She is currently in custody.
