46th Güzelyurt Orange Festival to be held on June 24-30


The 46th Güzelyurt Orange Festival, which will be held between June 24-30 this year, will start with a cortege on Monday, June 24, at 6.30 p.m.

According to the Güzelyurt Municipality, the week-long festival will include concerts of Turkish and local artists, a children’s festival and many other events. All events during the festival will be free of charge.

-The Cortege

The festival involves all the local community, including schools, culture and art associations, businesses, dance troupes, non-governmental organisations, sports clubs, and animators, each day will offer a packed schedule in front of the Güzelyurt Primary School.

This is followed by a calendar of events, mainly taking place in the city centre in front of the Güzelyurt Grand Bazaar. Activities within the scope of the festival will continue to take place at the Festival Park.

– The Opening

On the opening night, the festival will include dance shows and a concert by Samida music group at the Amphitheatre which will begin at 8.30 p.m.

The festival will be followed by a cultural concert by Grup Otantik at the Festival Park Square at 10.30 p.m.

The 46th Güzelyurt Orange Festival will be hosting many concerts by local artists and musical groups; Samida, Melis Fis, Sümer Ezgü, Ekin Uzunlar, Irmak Arıcı.

Stalls and shops in the area will be open throughout the festival with local goods and beverages.

Tournaments including backgammon, chess will also be held during the festival.
