7th Doganci ( Elia) Watermelon Culture and Arts Festival starts on Thursday


 

The 7th Doğancı ( Elia) Watermelon Culture and Arts Festival will be held on Thursday, August 8.
According to information given by the Doğancı Development Association (DOKAD), the 7th Doğancı Watermelon Culture and Arts Festival will be held between August 8-11, hosted by DOKAD, with the contributions of Lefke Municipality, the support of Doğancı Cooperative Credit Co. and the main sponsorship of Alpcans.
The festival will kickstart with a cortege at 18.30 and this will be followed with speeches by the Lefke Mayor Aziz Kaya , Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Turkish Cypriot Leader Ersin Tatar respectively.

Throughout the festival, watermelons will be distributed to the guests free of charge for tasting, and playgrounds financed by sponsors will be open to children under the slogan “let our children have fun to the fullest without having to pay for it”.

Food, beverages, handicrafts and souvenirs representing the culture of the region, and the country will be sold at the stands to be set up, and folk dances, juggling shows, Caucasian dance shows, led light dance shows, magician shows, and similar events will all take place throughout the four-day festival.
