The renovation of the Apostolos Andreas Monastery road is expected to begin soon, it has been reported.
Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı, the Highways Department, Turkish Highways Coordination Office and department officials inspected the road yesterday.
Ministers and other officials met with citizens in the village square.
The 25-kilometer road, starting next to the Blue Sea Hotel and ending at the Apostolos Andreas Monastery, will be renewed to a 6 meter road. The road width will be 10 meters with a two-meter bicycle and walking path.
12 locations were put forward for the materials to be used in the road construction. Three suitable places will be selected for the road and will be licensed within a week. Construction work on the road will then begin. The financing of the road will be covered by Türkiye.
