A first in the North Cyprus..brain peacemaker for Parkinson’s patient!


 

The Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek gave news on the health of a 62-year-old female Parkinson’s patient, who was diagnosed 13 years ago and who underwent a brain pacemaker implantation at the Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital State Hospital in Lefkoşa (Nicosia).

Emphasizing that this surgery is a first in North Cyprus and a turning point in the country, Dinçyürek said that the patient’s involuntary movements were eliminated following surgery.

Thanking the surgeons and all involved in the surgery, Minister Dinçyürek expressed his happiness to see the patient well and said that with the necessary treatment other patients could also be brought back to life.

Dinçyürek also noted that they are doing their best to carry out surgeries that are not already being performed at the state hospital in Lefkoşa and are working to improve surgeries that are already taking place.
