A manhunt has been launched for former Home and Away television star Orpheus Pledger after he failed to front up to court to face assault charges.
Australia Police issued a public appeal for help tracking down Pledger after issuing a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday.
“The 30-year-old is wanted on warrant in relation for failing to appear for an assault related matter,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
Pledger had been due to face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after it was alleged he assaulted a woman.
Investigators hope that with the release of Pledger’s image through police media channels “someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts”.
