Bad cheques of a value of €252,988 in first four months of 2024


 

The total value of bounced cheques in the first four months of 2024 reaches 252,988 euro, according to the Central Bank of Cyprus which released on Tuesday the statistics relating to the Central Information Register for the month of April 2024.

According to preliminary records, the number of bounced cheques in the first four months of 2024 was 108, in 2023 it was 356 in total for the year, in 2022 their total number reached 473, in 2021 it was 363 and in 2020 it was 454.
The value of bounced cheques in the first four months of 2024 reaches 252,988 euro, while in 2023 the total value for the year was €1,767,912, in 2022 it was €1,518,669, in 2021 it was €933,945 and in 2020 it reached €741,700.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of 2024, the registrations of persons (legal persons, natural persons and natural persons controlling legal entities) in the Central Information Register for issuers of bad checks reached 78. In 2023 the total registrations for the whole year reached 274, in 2022 it was 255, in 2021 it was 179 and in 2020 it reached 186.
