Cyprus deports around 4,500 migrants in joint operation with FRONTEX


 

Cypriot authorities on May 21, collaborated with Greece and the European border and coast guard agency FRONTEX to carry out a forced return flight for migrants residing illegally in Cyprus.

This marks the seventh joint operation by Cyprus Police and FRONTEX for deporting third-country nationals in 2024.

As of May 21, a total of 4,491 individuals have been repatriated from Cyprus.

This represents a significant increase compared to the 3,489 repatriations during the same period in 2023.
