Teenagers track phone leading to a 53-year-old man arrest


 

Police arrested a 53-year-old man on Sunday for a series of burglaries after discovering stolen property in his possession.

The suspect, linked to five theft cases, was apprehended by Germasogeia police officers following a complaint made by two 16-year-olds around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the teens, their two mobile phones and a gold chain with a cross were stolen from the beach in the Dasoudi area around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Using a location app, they tracked one of the phones and alerted the police.

Officers located the suspect and conducted a search, recovering the stolen mobile phones and the gold chain. Additionally, they found three other mobile phones and an electronic wristwatch, all of which were confirmed to be stolen, as well as a fourth mobile phone that is still under investigation.

The suspect was taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
