Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement to be signed between two countries


 

In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations and economic cooperation, the Turkish and Northern Cyprus governments are set to sign a comprehensive Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel flew to Ankara last night to finalize the agreement.
The signing ceremony, which will take place today morning, will follow discussions between Prime Minister Üstel and Türkiye’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

Following the signing ceremony, the two leaders will hold a joint press conference.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the 2024 Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement includes financial support for new projects and ongoing initiatives in the Northern Cyprus.
It also outlines significant credit and grant support aimed at strengthening various sectors.
The agreement aims to ensure the efficient and effective use of the provided support and to further strengthen the already robust ties between Türkiye and the Northern Cyprus.
The protocol is also expected to contribute significantly to the realization of numerous projects and reforms in a short period, addressing the Northern Cyprus’s priority needs.
