President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrives in North Cyprus


 

The plane carrying Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan landed on the new runway of Ercan Airport at noon today. The first plane that landed on the new runway of Ercan Airport was greeted by water-spraying fire trucks.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who arrived in the republic at noon today was greeted by Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, former Turkish Cypriot Leader Derviş Eroğlu, Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, the main opposition party (CTP) leader Tufan Erhürman, ministers of North Cyprus, ministers of the Republic of Türkiye and other high-ranking officials, where extensive security measures were taken.
Erdoğan, who came to North Cyprus for a-day long visit, after his 3-day official contacts with Gulf countries, is attending the opening ceremony of the new terminal of Ercan Airport, the ceremony at the Lefkoşa (Nicosia) Atatürk Monument and the parade at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük boulevard. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also meet with Turkish Cypriot Leader Ersin Tatar at a bilateral meeting at the Presidency building, it has been reported.
