Girne Municipality has given the green light for an integrated project!

Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul announced that the first step has been taken for a comprehensive project, surrounding the area of the Girne (Kyrenia) Castle.
“I believe that today a new era has begun for our city, the first steps of the project that will mark the future decades. The project which has been submitted to City Planning Department, will begin from the old butchery building, continue around the amphitheatre area, Karakız parking area, and the area behind the castle, and will end at the northern part of the Baldöken parking area that faces the castle. Approval has been received for the documents sent to the Department of Antiquities. The aim of this major project is to liven up the area which is one of the most beautiful places in North Cyprus and the Mediterranean and to make it more appealing, not only for our citizens but for tourists as well. We are planning to surround the area with an underground car park, viewing terraces, restaurants, cafes, walking paths, a beach (behind the castle), a youth centre, Girne Municipality facilities, escalators, lifts for the disabled, and much more,” Şenkul is cited as saying.
