Protests held against TC leader Tatar in London!

Protests were held against Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar by a group of Greek and Greek Cypriot students in London.

The students, carrying banners and chanting slogans towards the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, tried to prevent his convoy from entering the King’s College grounds to attend a conference.
Security guards in front of the university building dispersed the crowd of protesters.
During the conference held at King’s College in London, Tatar referred to the mentality of the Greek Cypriots and said that they cannot even tolerate the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people being heard. Such behaviour is ugly and inappropriate, he said and added that they will not give up and will continue their struggle.

“Equal status can be obtained in Cyprus through a fair reconciliation”
Tatar, who expressed his pride in addressing the King’s College students evaluated the future of the Cyprus issue and spoke of the new policy of the Turkish Cypriot side and the history of the Cyprus problem.

Tatar stated that they were continuing efforts to make the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people heard at every platform. Referring to the unfortunate protest towards the conference, Tatar said that the Turkish Cypriot side will continue to fight for a peaceful solution on the island.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people will never accept the administration of the Greek Cypriot side, the Turkish Cypriot leader Tatar said that they will continue their struggle on the new policy in Cyprus adding that there are two states on the island.
Stating that by carrying out efforts for cooperation between the sides, resources could be shared and a sustainable structure in favour of peace could be created on the island. Tatar said that they have therefore put forward a new policy based on two states.

Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriot people approached every plan in favour for peace, and that although they said “yes” to the Annan Plan, the isolation continued, but the Greek Cypriots were accepted as a member of the European Union (EU). The injustices and realities of Cyprus should now be seen.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people expect justice from the international community, Tatar noted that the “TRNC” State is a democratic state with its institutions and organizations.
