The government has amended the law for detained individuals and ruled that detainees will not be handcuffed by police while being taken to court unless they have committed an intentional murder crime. Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz claimed that this decision was taken on June 26.
Oğuz also stated that every individual deserves justice and that the police should pay attention to the presumption of innocence. He added that in the past, the reputation of individuals being tried in court has been insulted. He said that along with society he was saddened by some of the footage that has damaged the reputation of individuals.
