Akdoğan Health Centre left without doctor

The Akdoğan Health Centre, which has been operational for over 11 years, has been left without a doctor following a recent decision by authorities. Mesarya Mayor Ahmet Latif criticised the move, stating, “It is clear that this decision was made without considering the will and needs of the local community.”

In response, residents of Akdoğan (Lysi) organised a protest in front of the Health Centre. A large crowd gathered early in the morning, raising banners with slogans such as “Mesarya People Support Dr. Anıl Özgün” and “No Politics in Health.”

During the protest, Mayor Ahmet Latif explained that the primary aim was to provide better quality healthcare services to the local population. He also noted that despite efforts to engage with authorities, all channels of consultation had been closed. “We have worked with six or seven ministers, but we have never encountered such a situation,” he said, expressing his frustration over the decision.
