Art Competition on the theme of Human Rights completed


 

The Embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Sweden in Cyprus have announced the successful completion of their joined art competition on the  theme of Human Rights.

According to a press release issued by Embassy of Netherlands, over 70 art works were submitted by Cypriot youth, across the whole island.

In the statement, it was stated that the works will be exhibited in a special exhibition that will be opened on Thursday, December 7 (tomorrow) at 18:30 at the House of Solidarity (Ledra Palace area).

The artworks on display include paintings, drawings, collages and photographs, all honoring International Human Rights Day.

During the event, the Embassies will award prizes to the top three winning artworks in each age category (12-18 and 18+).

The winners of the competition were selected by a jury consisting of representatives of the Dutch and Swedish Embassies as well as art professionals. The main criteria for selection were creativity, imagination and, in particular, interpretation of the Human Rights theme.
