The Kimliksizler Derneği (Association of Uncredentialeds) has announced a citizenship application protest to be held in southern Nicosia on Monday, 19 May, aiming to draw attention to the challenges faced by individuals unable to obtain Republic of Cyprus citizenship, particularly those born on the island to mixed-nationality parents.
The action seeks to underscore how these obstacles contradict fundamental human rights and principles of state sovereignty, effectively leaving many without legal status or a clear path to citizenship.
As part of the protest, a collective citizenship application event will take place to both challenge current policies and support those wishing to apply for citizenship. Participants will gather at 08:30 near Ledra Palace on the southern side and will march toward the Nicosia District Administration at 09:00.
The event is open not only to individuals who have yet to submit their applications but also to those who have previously applied or have not experienced any discrimination in this process.
Details regarding the required application forms and necessary documents are available on the association’s social media pages and at [https://kimliksizlerdernegi.blogspot.com/](https://kimliksizlerdernegi.blogspot.com/).
