Authorities probe animal cruelty incident in Paphos

Reports circulating on social media allege that a group of unidentified individuals engaged in the torture and killing of five cats near the abandoned “Land of the Kings” hotel, close to the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos.

Witnesses recount a horrific scene where the perpetrators mercilessly beat the defenseless animals, leaving them to perish in pools of blood. Prompted by distress calls from the public, law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene.

The deceased cats are slated to undergo examinations by veterinary authorities.
