Ayşe Ramadan, identified through CMP efforts, laid to rest with military honours


 

A military funeral was held today at Ortaköy Martyrs’ Cemetery for Ayşe (Yılmaz) Ramadan, whose remains were recently recovered during excavations conducted by the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) in the Poli area of Paphos.

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar attended the ceremony, expressing his honour at witnessing the burial of Ayşe Ramadan, whose fate had remained a mystery for decades.

Tatar commended the CMP’s crucial work in locating and identifying missing persons, helping families find long-awaited closure. He also emphasised that the sacrifices of Turkish Cypriot martyrs would never be forgotten.
