Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, on Thursday discussed the situation in Syria and Cyprus’ “stabilising importance” as a bridge between the region and the European Union.
According to a written statement by Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, regional and international developments were discussed at the meeting this afternoon between Christodoulides and Herzog at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.
“President Christodoulides and President Herzog exchanged views on current regional and international developments,” Letymbiotis said, noting that the discussion focused on the evolving situation in Syria and its possible implications for the Eastern Mediterranean, “while underlining the stabilising importance of Cyprus as a bridge between the region and the European Union.”
