Citrus farmers on strike: Farmers dump a full truck of citrus products onto road


 

The Turkish Cypriot Citrus Importers’ and Exporters’ Associations protested at the Güzelyurt Terminal roundabout.

Citrus growers drew attention to the problems that are being experienced in the sector, announcing that they will obstruct the two municipal truck scales near the Cypfruvex and Kalyoncu factory until the problems are solved.

During the protest, a truck full of citrus fruits were dumped on the road and set fire to.

A number of CTP MPs were also present at the strike. The two unions Chairmen and CTP Deputy Erkut Şahali made statements.
