Citrus producers protest in Güzelyurt over export challenges

The “Elye Doğancı Citrus Producers Action Committee” held a protest yesterday afternoon in front of the Güzelyurt ( Morphou) Terminal, drawing attention to ongoing difficulties faced by citrus producers.

The demonstration was attended by citrus growers, Lefke Mayor Aziz Kaya, several CTP Deputies, and representatives from exporter and producer unions, showing broad support for the cause.

Speaking at the protest, the committee’s president, Mehmet Bicen, emphasized their determination to avoid a repeat of the issues encountered in citrus exports last year. He urged for swift solutions to their challenges, noting that they are committed to dialogue and cooperation to prevent further escalation of problems.

Bicen’s call for action reflects the producers’ desire to work collaboratively with authorities and stakeholders to address the pressing concerns affecting the citrus industry.
