Citrus producers to protest against citrus products embargoes


 

The Doğancı (Elye) Producers Committee has announced plans to protest today, drawing attention to the severe challenges faced by citrus producers due to recent embargoes imposed by Turkey. The protest is scheduled to take place at 16:00 in front of the Güzelyurt (Morphou) Terminal Building.

Mehmet Bicen, speaking on behalf of the committee via social media, highlighted the economic struggles faced by citrus growers and traders, despite Ministry of Agriculture reports confirming that citrus products are free from disease.

Bicen called on the public to support the protest, emphasizing the critical need to address the economic hardships affecting the region’s citrus industry.
