CTCA court investigation continues


 

The head of the Cyprus Turkish Contractors Association (CTCA) C.G. was arrested on charges of “Forgery and Circulation of Forged Documents and CTCA employees N.T. and H. A., were detained for”forgery” and taken to court in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) yesterday.

A police statement said that a protocol was signed in 2007 to facilitate the procedures of workers to be brought from abroad, and in accordance with the protocol, CTCA received the applications and delivered them to the ministry. According to the police, an individual said that they paid 135 thousand 800 Euros to C.G. between 2022-2023 to speed up the process.

C.G.’s lawyer, Süleyman Özsoylular, said that his client C.G. was called to the police yesterday to give a statement regarding bank cheques and was subsequently arrested. N.T.’s lawyer, H. K., stated that there is so much more going on regarding the crime brought against his client and indicated that these should also be investigated. Judge Jale Ergüden, who evaluated the testimony, ordered the suspects to be detained for two days as part of the ongoing investigation.
