A defensive grenade was found yesterday afternoon in a rural area of a village in Nicosia province.
The grenade was discovered around 6:45 p.m. by a local resident, who immediately alerted the police. A police pyrotechnician was dispatched to the scene, where the device was inspected and identified as a defensive grenade, likely placed at a specific location recently.
The pyrotechnician safely disarmed the grenade, which was then collected as evidence for further scientific examination.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
