Deportation order for Congolese national in Nicosia


 

An deportation order has been issued for Ornella Bitembu Mwetaminwa, a 25-year-old Congolese national, who was found living in disarray in Lefkoşa (Nicosia). The suspect was brought to court and received a 3-day detention order.

The police found Mwetaminwa lying on the pavement in front of the Başpınar Apartment on İğneci Street, in Hamitköy (Mandres), Lefkoşa (Nicosia) on September 7, 2024, at around 9 PM.

According to the police, Mwetaminwa stated that she had no money, no source of income, and no place to stay. She expressed a desire to return to her country and admitted that she was sleeping on the street.

The authorities have decided to deport the suspect to her home country following these findings.
