The importance of drug inspections in traffic was discussed in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.
The meeting was participated by the Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz, Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, General Director of Police Kasım Kuni, Head of the Prime Ministry Anti-Drug Commission Teyfide Tecel Hatipoğlu, and First Deputy Director General of Police Ali Adalier.
DR. SIRRI EMPHASIZED IMPORTANCE OF DRUG TESTS
Turkish Cypriot Doctor Teoman Sırrı, who resides in the United Kingdom (UK) was also present during the meeting. Dr. Sırrı drew attention to the dangers of drug use in traffic and gave examples of practices in the UK. He explained the negative effects of drug use on drivers with scientific data and emphasized the importance of regular tests to ensure safety in traffic.
“DRUG USE HAS REACHED AN ALARMING LEVEL”
Üstel, who addressed the meeting, pointed to the necessity of deploying such tests.
” The increasing rate of traffic accidents and drug use in our country has reached an alarming level” he said.
