Early wildfires as temperatures soar!


 

Firefighters battle multiple blazes that broke out yesterday due to higher temperatures. Firefighters were able to contain the blazes in a short period of time.

One blaze that broke out yesterday was in Lefke (Lefka). According to reports, the fire was sparked by power lines on Ahmet Ferit Street and spread to grass in the field. The hay in the field, 10 citrus trees, and 3 irrigation pipes were burned due to the blaze.

Meanwhile, dry grass, 9 irrigation pipes, 15 drip irrigation pipes, and 10 pomegranate trees were burned in the fire that broke out in a land near a sheepfold in Yıldırım (Milia).

CITRUS FIELD DAMAGED

Dry grass, 4 citrus trees, 1 olive tree, and a 50-metre-long drip irrigation pipe were burned after a blaze broke out in a citrus field in Zümrütköy (Katokopya).

Another fire was sparked by an electrical short-circuit at a distribution unit in Taşpınar (Angolemi), causing a fire breakout in 2 citrus fields. Dry grass, 101 citrus trees, 7 cypress trees, an 800-metre-long drip irrigation pipe, and another 150-metre-long irrigation pipe were damaged in the fire.
