Emergency plan activated as more heavy rain expected!


 

Heavy rain is expected to be effective in the country starting today. Fire brigades and municipalities have taken precautions and emergency numbers have been published against possible negativities. The Fire Department, affiliated with the General Directorate, has issued a statement regarding measures to be taken against possible floods.

The fire brigade team recommends that the public takes into account the warnings made by the Met Office, saying that individuals should stay indoors and not leave home unless necessary. The warning also said to stay clear from places such as under trees, telephone and electricity poles in case of lightning strikes, and to call 199 Fire Brigade Hotline or 101 Civil Defence Hotline in case of an emergency.

Individuals were also warned to stop immediately and avoid driving through flooded roads or crossing bridges.
