The Environmental Platform held a protest in Iskele (Trikomo), aiming to protect the island’s water and soil resources, raise environmental awareness, and promote a sustainable future.
In a statement, the Platform expressed concern over the increasing environmental destruction in the country, which has led to the rapid depletion of vital resources such as water and soil. The protest was organized to demand an end to this harmful trend and to safeguard the island’s natural beauty.
The demonstration, held at the İskele (Trikomo) Long Beach, received support from political parties, non-governmental organizations, and citizens. The Platform, which includes groups such as the Green Peace Movement, the Chamber of Forest Engineers, the Cyprus Anti-Erosion and Afforestation Foundation (KEMA), the Turkish Cypriot Medical Association, the Lefke Environment and Promotion Association, the Biologists Association, the Universal Patient Rights Association, and the Chamber of City Planners, also issued a press statement during the protest.
