Ercan Airport sees increase in passengers and aircraft


 

The new Ercan Airport has experienced a significant increase in both passenger and aircraft numbers in 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

T&T Airport Management reported that for the first eight months of the year, from January 1 to August 31, there was a 24.7% increase in passenger numbers and a 14.28% increase in aircraft numbers.

In the first eight months of 2023, the old Ercan Airport served 2,457,097 passengers. For the same period in 2024, after the opening of the new airport, this number rose to 3,048,615 passengers.

The old Ercan Airport handled 16,892 aircraft in the first eight months of 2023. In comparison, 19,305 aircraft landed and took off at the new Ercan Airport during the same period in 2024.
