Ercan passenger arrivals increased by %28


 

The number of passengers arriving at Ercan Airport has increased by 28 per cent and the number of aircraft by 17.44 per cent compared to the first 6 months of last year.

According to a statement by T&T Airport Management, with the opening of the new terminal at Ercan Airport, an increase was experienced in the number of passengers and aircraft in the first 6 months between 1 January – 31 May 2023 and 1 January – 31 May 2024.

It was stated that the increase in the runway length at the airport to 3 thousand meters and the landing of wide-body aircraft on the new runway were an important factor in the increase in the number of passengers.

– Approximately 2 million passengers and 14 thousand aircraft were recorded in the first 6 months

Accordingly, while 1 million 704 thousand 481 passengers used the old terminal at Ercan Airport in the first six months of 2023, this number increased to 2 million 181 thousand 947 in the same period of 2024 with the opening of the new terminal at Ercan Airport.

In terms of the number of aircraft, in the first 6 months of 2023, 11 thousand 980 aircraft landed at the old terminal, while 14 thousand 69 aircraft landed and took off at the new terminal.
