Europe Day 2025 was marked on Sunday with a vibrant celebration in the buffer zone in front of the Ledra Palace Hotel, held under the slogan “Together.”
The event, jointly organized by Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities, highlighted themes of peace, diversity, cultural heritage, and unity. A wide array of cultural and artistic activities took place, including live performances, children’s workshops, and interactive exhibits.
Opening speeches were delivered by Mayor of Nicosia Charalambos Prountzos and Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı. European Commission Vice President Raffaele Fitto, responsible for Cohesion and Reforms and Support to the Cyprus Settlement, addressed the event via video message.
The artistic lineup featured performances by LBO Latin Trio, PAOK Klirou, HASDER Folk Dance Group, and Group Otantik. Meanwhile, families and children enjoyed puppet shows, a treasure hunt, renewable energy workshops, face painting, and handicrafts sessions.
Participants also visited information stands showcasing EU-funded projects and initiatives, reinforcing the event’s message of cooperation and shared European values.
