Famagusta New Museum (FNM) has launched an innovative “Lost & Found” platform. The platform is available in English, Greek, and Turkish.
According to a press release, this digital repository serves as a reminder of the events of 1974 and thereafter, providing a safe space for individuals whose lives were profoundly altered during this period.
The “Lost & Found” platform invites individuals to share images of objects discovered in their ‘new’ homes or elsewhere following the events of July 1974. Whether these items were found or acquired, the platform offers a means to connect with their potential owners.
“As FNM, our mission is to offer a secure environment for individuals to upload images of items found in their homes or acquired elsewhere,” stated a representative of Famagusta New Museum.
“Our goal is to facilitate the tracking and tracing of these objects, along with their accompanying stories. We envision this platform as a catalyst for reconciliation, fostering trust and understanding through the digital preservation of lost and found items” has been said.
Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to fill out the form provided on the platform, supplying relevant details about the item they wish to share or are seeking.
