The Police are investigating a case of premeditated murder, with the victim being 43-year-old Stylianos Stylianou from Pegeia.
According to the available information, at around 10:40 last night, the Police received a report of gunfire at a house in Pegeia.
Police officers immediately went to the area, where they found the 43-year-old dead inside the house.
According to preliminary investigations, the victim was at a gathering in the said house when, at some point after a confrontation, a 50-year-old man shot him with a hunting rifle, fatally injuring him.
The 50-year-old then fled the scene, but shortly afterwards, he visited Paphos General Hospital, where it was found that he had abrasions on his legs and various bruises.
He was subsequently arrested based on a court warrant and taken into custody to facilitate the investigation. During a verbal interrogation, he reportedly admitted to committing the offense.
