A fire erupted at noon on Monday in dry grass and wild vegetation near the community of Anogyra in the Limassol District.
Fire Service Spokesman Andreas Kettis said that eleven aircraft are actively working to extinguish the blaze near Anogyra. Additionally, ground forces have been reinforced by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Forestry Department.
Due to strong winds in the area, excavators and trucks from the British bases have also been called in to assist in the firefighting efforts.
