A 12-metre high Christmas tree hung with 17,000 lights and hundreds of baubles, burned to the ground in Paphos city centre .
According to authorities the fire broke out at 3.15am today. Paphos fire services extinguished the blaze before it spread.
The scene has been cordoned off. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
