Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu said that the statements by Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, regarding the European Union’s (EU) “active involvement” in the resolution process of the Cyprus issue, were unfortunate.
Stating that it was possible for the Cyprus talks to begin between the two states, Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu said that it would not be possible to have a party involved in the process that takes sides. The EU continues with its partiality. Therefore, the “TRNC” will not allow EU involvement in any negotiation process, Ertuğruloğlu said.
