A new regulation for an amnesty for residency and work permits, has been forced for foreign nationals in North Cyprus.
Foreign nationals, those who have had an expulsion order against them, and university students, who wish to benefit from the new amnesty law, can do so by paying a fine equal to one month’s gross minimum wage.
Foreigners with a criminal status will be exempt from previous fines provided they pay a fine equal to one month’s gross minimum wage for the periods they were staying illegally.
Minister of Labor Sadık Gardiyanoğlu announced that with the implementation of the law, the registration of foreigners will be made via employers. Gardiyanoğlu said that with the amnesty, data will be obtained on which company the foreigners came via and how they overstayed and became illegal in the country.
