Gazimağusa and Girne ports stopped work: Services being taken on for loading and unloading illegal!


 

It has been reported that ship owners, shipping agencies, and crane operators in Gazimağusa and Girne ports have stopped their activities on grounds that the tender put forward for services of loading and unloading is illegal.

Shipping agencies, ship owners, and crane operators protested at the Gazimağusa Port this morning.

Making a statement on behalf of the protesters, Oktay Kayalp said that the handling services of the company at the ports of North Cyprus, within the framework of the law, had been made ineffective. A tender had been put forward by the relevant ministry.

Stating that an official who was appointed for the tender to carry out the handling services at the Gazimağusa and Girne ports, Kayalp said that the tender was not legal. Kayalp also said that they are requesting for the tender to be canceled.
