Girne Municipality releases water quality results for public beaches


 

Girne ( Kyrenia)Municipality has announced the latest results of sea water quality analyses conducted at regular intervals across local beaches.

According to the municipality’s statement, recent tests at Karaoğlanoğlu (Antis) Public Beach and Kervansaray Public Beach confirm that the sea water is clean and safe for swimming.

Mayor Murat Şenkul noted that recent improvements to the sewage infrastructure, particularly in the Kervansaray area, have had a positive impact on water quality. “While the water quality was already good, the measures taken have elevated it to an excellent level,” Şenkul said.

The water samples, tested on the previous day, yielded the following results:

• Kervansaray Beach (South Side): E. coli: 0, Enterococcus: 0

• Kervansaray Beach (Merit Side): E. coli: 190, Enterococcus: 132

• Kervansaray Beach (North Side): E. coli: 0, Enterococcus: 0

• Antis Beach (East Side): E. coli: 0, Enterococcus: 5

• Antis Beach (West Side): E. coli: 0, Enterococcus: 9
