Greek Cypriot Anastasiou dies in tragic accident


 

61-year-old Charalambos ANASTASIOU driver of PYN 362, who was seriously injured following a crash with UK 872 registered vehicle, that took place at the Bostancı (Zodeia) traffic lights in Güzelyurt (Morphou) at around 2.50 p.m. today was taken to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) but could not be saved despite all efforts.

Murat AKBALIK, 23 and Özlem POLAT, 26, passengers in the UK 872 registered vehicle who were also injured following the accident are being kept under observation. Driver of UK 872 registered vehicle Kenan AŞAN, 40, has been arrested and an investigation has been launched.
