Green Line trade reaches €16m

The European Commission’s Representation in Cyprus has released its 2023 reports on trade across the Green Line and the implementation of the Aid Program for the Turkish Cypriot community.

According to the Green Line Report, trade across the Green Line increased by 9.6% in 2023, reaching a total volume of €16m.

The report also noted a rise in the number of crossings, from 6.1 million in 2022 to 7.1 million in 2023.

The second report, concerning the Aid Program, highlighted that since 2006, the European Union has allocated a total of €688m to support the Turkish Cypriot community, with €31.7m provided in 2023 alone.

The Commission’s statement mentioned the completion of three EU-funded infrastructure projects within the Turkish Cypriot community in 2023.

These projects include the construction of the Kormakitis (Kormacit) Cooperation Center and the doubling of capacity at the Morphou (Güzelyurt) Wastewater Treatment Plant.
